Saved by the Bell
If the apprehension towards the new school year could be compared to COVID cases, they would both be skyrocketing through the roof.
The current global pandemic situation has taken a toll on almost everything and school was not an exception. During the last two months of summer, school districts scrambled to figure out a plan for the next school year.
Trying to accommodate both virtual and face2face schooling, administrators developed a new bell schedule to make the transition back into school as smooth as possible. The new bell schedule gives students 90 minutes with their teachers, a half-hour lunch, and a five minute “passing period” in-between each class to get on the next zoom call.
There was originally an advisory class with your third-period class after lunch, but the school decided to remove it until addressed, giving students an hour power lunch (12:15-1:15).
The new schedule is as follows…
During these times, students are expected to treat virtual learning as a real school environment and follow all the rules and expectations. More information on the virtual classrooms can be found at https://www.friscoisd.org/departments/covid-19/virtual-instruction.
