Memorial Girls Basketball Crushes Heritage

This Tuesday Memorial Girls Varsity Basketball played an away game against Heritage, coming out on top by a wide margin of 56-22.

Memorial’s team quickly took the lead in the first quarter, pushed it farther in the third quarter, and didn’t let up in the rest of the game, leaving Heritage behind. Heritage came close to scoring frequently, especially with fast breaks and steals, but just couldn’t turn the tide.

“Last district game before PLAYOFFS!! Let’s goooooo.” Said Memorials official Twitter account, @GBBLadyWarriors, before the game.

This victory leaves Memorial standing at 2nd in the district with a .81% win ratio. All that’s left is to wait for the playoffs schedule to be determined, so check back to see who the Warriors play next.

 

Lady Warrior Soccer Earns Tough Victory

The Memorial Varsity soccer team earned a tough victory beating Heritage 2-0 last Tuesday at Memorial High School.

The Lady Warriors scored 2 goals during the second half.“The Warriors get past a feisty Heritage squad with a pair of late goals!

Memorial takes a Win!

Memorial steals a close game victory against Lebanon in an 83-75.

The 1st quarter started strong with both teams staying neck and neck with Memorial sitting at a 23-17 lead. The second quarter leaves no ground gained with both teams gaining minor points. But in a burst of energy Memorial takes off and scores basket after basket taking a stronghold on victory until the end.

“Spectacular, made it look to easy,” says Scott Posphical @CoachScottP a bystander for Memorial.

Memorial will be taking their next game against Richland on the 11th with the game winning spirit they need and Lebanon will be taking on Lovejoy on the 11th as well.

 

Mavericks Succumb  to the Golden State Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks played against the Golden State Warriors on February 4th. The Mavericks took a 31 point loss to the Warriors with a score of 147-116.

The game took place in Dallas at the American Airlines Center. The Mavericks came in and played hard but the Warriors played harder with the ending score in the first quarter being 36-34. But that didn’t stop the Dallas team, they came back into the second quarter and fought hard and had a 2 point lead over Golden State going into halftime. The Mavericks came back from and only scored 20 points while Golden State scored 37 giving them the lead. In the fourth quarter, the Dallas Mavericks weren’t able to come back and ended up taking a 147-116 loss.

“This was a difficult lesson,” said Rick Carlisle coach of the Dallas Mavericks, when asked about the shooting percentages throughout the game. The Dallas Mavericks now have a 9-14 record. Making them raking 14 in the Western Conference out of 15 teams.

The Mavericks have another chance to redeem themselves against the Warriors on Saturday, February 6th. The games aren’t open to the public due to Covid-19 but you can tune in to the game on any sports channel.
