Today I am continuing my article series on How to read and interpret Birth charts. Today is about the Zodiac Signs in astrology and how it fits within a Birth chart.

What is a zodiac sign ?

There are 12 zodiac signs and they are each ruled by or the traits of each planet. “Ruled by” is how each sign behaves based on the traits of the planet. To learn more read the article I wrote  about planets in astrology.

Fire signs 

Aires-

March 21st and April 20th ,Honest, courageous,Driven and generous. Ruled by Mars

Leo- 

July 23rd-August 22nd, Theatrical,passionate, vivacious. Ruled by the Sun

Sagittarius- 

November 21st- December 21st, optimistic,fair minded, intellectual. Ruled by Jupiter 

Air signs 

Libra-

September 22nd- October 22nd, charming ,well balanced,likes to compromise. Ruled by Venus 

Gemini- 

May 20th-June 20th, Curious, social butterflies, quick-witted. Ruled by Mercury

Aquarius- 

January 20th- February 18th,Fearless,independent, strong leaders. Ruled by Uranus 

Earth signs 

Virgo- 

August 23rd-September 22nd,practical, sensible,loyal. Ruled by the Sun

Taurus-

 April 20th -May 20th, relaxed,dedicated,dependable. Ruled by Venus 

Capricorn- 

December 22nd-January 19th, Ambitious,grounded,disciplined. Ruled by Saturn 

Water signs 

Pisces- 

February 19th-March 20th, Empathetic,impressionable,creative. Ruled by Neptune

Cancer-

June 21st-July 22nd, Intuitive,caring,protective. Ruled by the Moon

Scorpio- 

October 23rd-November 21st, determined, Brave,Honest. Ruled by Pluto

Note: The traits listed are generic because you have to take into account the entirety of the chart and not just the quality of the Sun sign. Check for your rising and Venus also to get a more accurate picture.
