Angels @ Rangers

On a beautiful Monday night in Arlington, Texas the Los Angeles Angels conquered the Texas Rangers with a score of 9-4.

The Angels with a record of 10-10 are coming off a win against the Houston Astros and on the other hand, the Rangers had lost 3 in a row with a record of 9-13. In the top of the 1st Jordan Lyles, pitcher for the Rangers let up one run on an RBI Double from Jared Walsh. Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani was pitching and hitting for the Angels in tonight’s game. Ohtani let up 4 runs, 2 hits, and walked 2 people in the bottom of the 1st. 3 of the 4 Rangers runs came from a Nate Lowe Homerun going 428 feet into a sea of fans. The next inning was another slugfest for the Angels; they scored two more runs courtesy of Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. The rest of the game was all Angels as Justin Upton, Jose Iglesias, and Albert Pujols all hit solo home runs. Ohtani finished the game with a win tallying 9 strikeouts, 2 walks with 5 innings of work, and #35 Tony Watson finished off the game for an Angels win.

After a rough first inning Shohei Ohtani says this about how he managed himself, “I treated it like it was a brand new ballgame,” Ohtani then said. “Everything went smoothly from there.”

The Angels and Rangers will finish the series over the next two days with both teams hoping to climb the standings. After the series in Arlington, the Angels will depart to the NorthWest to take on the (13-10) Seattle Mariners on April, 30. The Angels are currently 3 games behind the first-place lead held by the Oakland Athletics. The bottom-feeding Texas Rangers are currently 6 games behind first place. The Rangers will stay in their new state-of-the-art stadium to take on the Boston Red Sox on April, 29.
