Suns Fall To Lakers
An intriguing matchup was brought to us under the bright lights in Hollywood as the Phoenix Suns fall to the Los Angeles Lakers, 123-110.
With two teams on the opposite sides of the playoff picture, the Lakers the defending champions are still trying to secure a playoff side currently a 7 seed, and then the Suns are locked in at the number 2 seed. Uncommon duo Anthony Davis and Alex Caruso combined for 59 points 42 of them were from superstar Anthony Davis. The Lakers were missing 3 of their 5 starters in LeBron James, Dennis Schroeder, and Kyle Kuzma.
Lakers Anthony Davis talks about their recent struggles, “It’s been fun, to be honest. We were a great team last year, and this is the first time since I’ve been here that we ran into a challenge.”
The Suns fell behind early in the first quarter 30-19, and then halftime concluded with the Lakers still up 59-47. The rest of the way it was pretty even, trading shots back and forth, but the Suns could never catch up as the Lakers ended the game with an alley-oop to win by 13 and put an exclamation mark on this game.
As Anthony Davis is just coming back from injury, “The beast is waking up. He’s coming…” says teammate Alex Caruso
With the season winding down it is almost certain we will see both of these teams in the playoffs. The Suns will finish the season playing @ Golden State, Vs. Portland, and back-to-back games @ San Antonio. On the other hand, the Lakers have a tough road ahead Vs. New York, Vs. Houston, @ Indiana, and finish @ New Orleans. Don’t be surprised to see this lower-seeded Lakers team make it far in this year’s playoffs, if fully healthy.
