Senior Wrestler Caitlyn Flaherty became known as our first-ever UIL State champion Saturday Night, in a very impressive match. In addition, first-year senior Bri Gomez also competed in a 126 weight class, through which she dropped close matches to state medalists.

Caitlyn has also been chosen as the Star Local Media Athlete of the Week. With her long list of achievements such as ranking #7 wrestler as the state in round 1, placing 4th finisher unbeaten returned State Finalist from McAllen, and defeating the returning state champion from Canyon Randall.

Caitlyn has succeeded in many impressive accomplishments. 

Most importantly, Caitlyn has put in more effort than any other Wrestler in FISD throughout the last 4 years, and she became known as the only FISD State Champion this season.

Caitlyn Flaherty is a true warrior who led the Women’s Team to new heights.
